Alpha to Standardize on Oracle eAM Global PTM, an industry leader in Maintenance Operational Improvement (MOI) solutions with a focus on Oracle Enterprise Asset Management (eAM) implementations, announced the completion of a successful Oracle eAM implementation project for Alpha Natural Resources. Oracle eAM was implemented at numerous recently acquired Massey Energy prep plants and existing Alpha sites. The system was implemented with the existing Oracle E-Business Suite applications and asset management tools. Global PTM identified the best approach for implementing the newly acquired sites into the Oracle eAM environment, which allowed Alpha to standardize its maintenance processes leveraging the Oracle eAM solution. This effort included the development of an implementation timeline, staffing plan and schedule to ensure proper system configurations, interfaces, application set-ups and initial testing. A train-thetrainer approach created and led by Global PTM provided user training for the core project team prior to the go-live launch. As a result of the Oracle eAM implementation, Alpha successfully standardized a company-wide maintenance system that provides improved business intelligence reporting and analysis capabilities. Weir Minerals Linatex Receives ISO 9001:2008 Certification Weir Minerals Linatex in Gallatin, Tenn., has received certification to the ISO 9001:2008 standard conducted by Perry Johnson Registrar. Over the prior seven months, the Quality Management System was refined and improved to include all functional areas. The ultimate achievement of this goal was made possible through the participation of all employees at every level of the organization. The strong corporate support for Lean principles embedded in Weir Minerals made this journey a smooth one. This is but one step in the development of the Gallatin site on its journey toward world class status. Just one year earlier, the site received certification to both ISO 14001 (Environmental) and OHSAS 18001 (Health and Safety Management). The certification to ISO 9001:2008 recognizes that the policies, practices and procedures of the company ensure consistent quality in the product and services Weir provides to its customers.
