Metso Wins a Major Pump Order for Vale���s Coal Mine in Mozambique Vale, one of the world���s leading mining companies, has signed a major contract with Metso to deliver 110 heavy duty slurry pumps to its Moatize coal mine in Mozambique. The order is part of Vale���s plan to increase the mine���s capacity to 11 million metric tons. The value of the order is ���3.3 million ($4.4 million). The Metso delivery to Vale consists of more than 110 pumps. The pumps are specially designed for the demanding conditions associated with mining and for easy maintenance. The order also covers initial start-up and commissioning, together with service training and assistance for the first six months of operation. Metso���s delivery will be completed by Q4 2013. RPM Announces New Software for Underground Coal RungePincockMinarco (RPM) recently announced a new software package focusing exclusively on underground coal. Underground Coal XPAC Solution accelerates plans while accommodating underground coal mines with a streamlined interface facilitating business-critical stages. RPM Regional General Manager, EMEA, Mike Evans notes many clients are overly dependent on ���niche��� technical skills. ���With a skills shortage continuing to affect the industry, we���ve addressed these concerns by opening up mine planning to a wider audience,��� Evans said.
