VDMA A Caterpillar 6060 face shovel, the largest of the company's Productivity class of hydraulic excavator. 6060/6060 FS, weighs more than 560 mt and can load 61 mt per pass. Between these two models are four additional machines that increase incrementally in size; the 6018/6018 FS, 6030/6030 FS, 6040/6040 FS and the 6050/6050 FS, with the complete range available in either backhoe or face shovel configuration. In addition, Caterpillar also produces the 6090 FS ultra-class model: with an operating weight of nearly 1,000 mt and maximum payload capability exceeding 90 mt, this is the largest hydraulic shovel in production today. Until 2012, the 6090 FS was built in Dortmund, with production now having moved to a factory in the U.S. 2013 • VDMA MINING SUPPLEMENT Caterpillar says the 6030/6030 FS is the most popular of the hydraulic mining shovels made in Dortmund, with more than 200 units delivered worldwide. The smallest Productivity Class machine, this offers a maximum payload of 30 mt and a maximum operating weight of 290 mt. Caterpillar recently announced the development of a "next-generation" model, the 6030B/6030B FS, which will include a number of safety enhancements and has a newly designed operator's cab. It will mark one of its latest investments in hydraulic shovel research and development, the company points out, and one that will positively impact manufacturing at the Dortmund plant. VDMA 25
