suppliers news continued ing partner of both companies. He and his team are highly experienced in mine bonding, mine site reclamation and bankruptcy workouts. "I am glad to have completed the move," said Adams. "Cumberland and Newbridge remain committed to the coal industry. We continue to offer bonding services, reclamation, due diligence and bankruptcy work out services. Our phone number, email and website addresses remain the same." ALL Erection Makes Major Purchases ALL Erection & Crane Rental Corp. announced the acquisition of two Manitowoc/Grove packages, adding a total of 46 machines to its industry-leading rental fleet: the first package announced in May, including 30 units anchored by 10 Manitowoc 2250 crawlers, and the second in July, which included two GMK7550 ATs and one Manitowoc 16000 crawler. The total purchase of 46 new units offers a range of capacities from 40 to 440 tons. This acquisition will help meet the current high demand for equipment in virtually all geographies in which the ALL Family of Companies has operations. As part of a major acquisition in its firstquarter fleet update, ALL Erection & Crane Rental Corp. purchased a package of 10 Manitowoc 2250 lattice boom crawler cranes and five luffing jibs. ALL Erection runs the largest fleet of Manitowoc 2250s in the world. A block of 10 new Grove RT650E 50-ton rough terrain cranes and 10 Grove RT540E 40-ton RTs were also ordered and will add to ongoing fleet expansion at its Cleveland, Ohio, headquarters location. The 2250 is the staple of ALL's crawler fleet, with a capacity of 300 tons and featuring 330 ft of main boom. Designed-in mobility, stability, and reliability make the 2250 ideal for a variety of applications, from setting steel to placing heavy industrial components. The 70- to 160-ft luffing jib adds flexibility on tight construction sites and facilitates up-and-over lifts. Crane utilization is at the highest level in years, according to Michael L. Liptak, president, ALL Family of Companies. He attributes it to the surge in power and energy projects, which has fueled the demand for mid-range crawlers like the 2250. "Fortifying our rental fleet also allows us to offer more quality used equipment for sale, so demand is met for all of our customers," Liptak said. Trimble to Distribute Rajant's Wireless Solution Trimble will now offer Rajant's Kinetic Mesh wireless networking solutions as part of Trimble's mining portfolio. The technology will be combined with Trimble's positioning solutions—the Terralite XPS GNSS and 4D Control slope monitoring system as well as third-party productivity and safety applications—to provide the technology infrastructure needed to support mining productivity and safety applications from fleet management and grade control for road construction to collision avoidance and slope All Erection has ordered 10 new Grove 50-ton rough terrain cranes (above). 48 www.coalage.com monitoring. With Rajant's Kinetic Mesh technology, Trimble believes it can now provide a complete communications and positioning infrastructure solution for mining. Rajant BreadCrumb wireless, portable mesh networking nodes with InstaMesh software enable continuous and instantaneous routing of wireless and wired connections. This dynamic frequency utilization capability allows for network mobility with robust fault tolerance, high throughput and low latency. Rajant's technology is used extensively today in demanding military and mining operations to provide reliable networking for remote monitoring, tracking assets, voice and data communications, and video feeds. "The increase in precision and automation across mining processes requires advanced positioning and communication technology to build a reliable geospatial infrastructure at the mine site. Rajant's mesh networking technologies complement our positioning technologies to deliver this complete infrastructure solution," said Nathan Pugh, business area director of Mining, Trimble. SGS, Raven Ridge to Focus on Coalbed Methane SGS and Raven Ridge Resources will provide an integrated coalbed methane (CBM) and coal mine methane (CMM) consultancy and services capability. SGS' proven capabilities in coal analysis as well as gas analysis, subsurface consultancy and well side services, allows the company to provide global field and lab analysis services to complement Raven Ridge Resources' CBM and CMM technical expertise. The SGS/Raven Ridge team has the capability to fully measure and define methane production potential contained in coalbeds and surrounding strata. This includes the ability to: • Delineate, map and quantify the gas resources and reserves associated with coal; • Forecast CBM and CMM production potential; • Design CMM projects and assist in establishing greenhouse gas accounting measures to qualify for emission credits created from methane recovered, used/destroyed and hence not liberated during the coal mining life cycle; and September 2013
