Today at the mine where the above acci- dent occurred, PreView Radar is installed and the shovel operator receives an audible and visual notice about the approximate range of an object in his swing radius. The result for the operation has been a zero- accident rating for the equipment that has PreView Radar installed. Overall, Evans noted, those using the PreView system have reported more than a 75% reduction in blind spot accidents. Preco and Georgia-based Strata World- wide are working on the final details of a collaboration to make Strata an authorized dealer for PreView systems.
