Group for a further three years until December 2017 at the Sonoma mine in the Bowen Basin, Queensland, with an expect- ed revenue of $70 million over the con- tract term. The CHPP facility is scheduled to pro- cess approximately 6 million metric tons per year (mtpy) of coking and thermal coal from the QCoal Group open-cut mines located near Collinsville in the Bowen Basin. Sedgman designed and constructed the Sonoma CHPP and has operated the facility since 2009. CEO and Managing Director Peter Watson is delighted to continue the strong and enduring relationship with QCoal. "This latest renewal is a clear demonstra- tion of the value that Sedgman's business model offers clients from concept study through delivery to ongoing operations," Watson said. "Our operations team have been working collaboratively with QCoal to maximize CHPP productivity and opti- mize processing costs. Our Sonoma site based team, supported by our off-site sup- port group, have consistently delivered industry leading facility run hours and excellent process performance at this facility." Magnetek is Awarded 2014 Premier Supplier by Joy Global Magnetek, a leading designer and manu- facturer of digital power and motion con- trol systems used in mining applications, has been awarded the 2014 Premier Supplier of the Year status by Joy Global. This is the second year Joy Global has rec- ognized Magnetek from its nearly 4,000 suppliers. As one of only 26 North American underground recipients, Magnetek represents best in industry quali- ty, delivery and value as identified by Joy Global. Those companies receiving the award achieved target metrics for quality of 99.7% or better, on-time delivery of 95% or better, material productivity and a success- ful long-term relationship with Joy Global. "We are proud to be recognized for a second year by Joy Global for our dedica- tion to providing high-quality products at a good value, and meeting the needs of their business," said Peter McCormick, president and CEO for Magnetek. Petitto, Datong Ink New Export Deal Three years after signing its first business collaboration agreement, West Virginia firm Petitto Mine Equipment and Chinese operator Datong Mine Group have settled on its latest purchase agreement to export another one of its machines to the Shanxi Province. The purchase agreement was part of a larger meeting between Shanxi delegates and officials from West Virginia held recent- ly in Charleston. China was West Virginia's second-largest international market in 2014, with more than $550 million worth of state products shipped to the country. Petitto makes the Mule longwall shield transporter, and Datong also agreed last week to continue their business and tech- nology collaboration to "improve mining safety and efficiency in the future." Other signed documents from the meeting included a friendship agreement between Shanxi and the state and a memorandum of understanding to promote educational and academic exchanges among higher education institutions in both locations. The West Virginia Development Office Export Promotion Program has sponsored a West Virginia pavilion at the biennial China Coal and Mining Expo since 1999. It will attend the Beijing event once again this year from October 29-November 1. Morgantown-headquartered Petitto was formed in 1969 by Angelo Petitto as a repair facility and began manufacturing equipment in 1978. The Petitto Mule evolved from a 10-ton prototype to a 55- ton machine; it is currently one of the industry's largest available units. s u p p l i e r s n e w s c o n t i n u e d Joy Global presents Magnetek with Supplier of the Year.
