Sellick Equipment of Harrow, Ontario, Canada, has introduced the S150 — a rough terrain forklift. The 15,000-lb- capacity (6800-kg) unit is powered by a 74-hp (55-kW), 4-cylinder intercooled Tier 4f electronic-diesel engine that pro- duces 295 ft/lb of torque. The S150 fea- tures a fully isolated operator platform that reduces noise and vibration, and the over-head guard structure is both ROPS and FOPS certified. Operators can moni- tor the machine's systems through a mul- tifunction digital LCD screen that also provides onboard diagnostics to reduce downtime. www.sellickequipment.com Gear Oil Meets Wheel Motor Standard ExxonMobil has announced that its Mobil SHC Gear Series of synthetic industrial gear oils have been approved for use in General Electric (GE) off-highway vehicle motorized wheel gearbox applications requiring GE's new gear oil specification, D50E35. Effective January 1, the new GE D50E35 specification replaces the D50E27 specification for GE drives used in haul trucks. The new spec establishes micro- pitting protection requirements in addi- tion to scuffing wear resistance and other improvements. "Since their introduction, Mobil SHC Gear Series oils have been helping com- panies in the mining sector get more out of their equipment," said Larry Mokan, senior equipment builder engineer at ExxonMobil Fuels & Lubricants. "Mobil SHC Gear Series synthetic oils meet the stringent new gear oil requirements for GE motorized gear drives with a formula- tion that delivers outstanding protection in extreme temperature and load condi- tions while combating micro-pitting fatigue wear, rust and corrosion." The Mobil SHC Gear Series represents the company's continued commitment to developing advanced, high-performance lubricant technologies that can help cus- tomers decrease costs and improve the productivity of their operations. These oils contain an advanced, pro- prietary additive system designed to pro- tect gears from conventional wear modes, such as scuffing, while offering a high lev- el of resistance against micro-pitting fatigue. In addition, the oils offer the potential for improved lubrication of gearbox rolling element bearings as com- pared to conventional gear oils. "We began GE D50E35 qualification testing early and met the new require- ments shortly after they were published in late 2014," Mokan said. "We are confident that owners of GE OHV motorized gear- box drives who choose Mobil SHC Gear oils will also experience the same excel- lent field performance enjoyed by our customers over the past four years under the current GE specification." The complete range of viscosities for the Mobil SHC Gear Series, ISO VG 150, 220, 320, 460 and 680, are approved for use under GE Material D50E35, categories A-E. www.mobilindustrial.com Automated Lubricant Analysis System The MicroLab Series all-in-one automat- ed lubricant analysis systems from Spectro Scientific can be used in any industry that operates equipment pow- ered by diesel engines. The ability to per- form oil analysis on location eliminates the ongoing expense of outside testing services and dramatically reduces the time waiting for the results of those tests. It provides comprehensive results in less than 20 minutes, which enables compa- nies to maintain the readiness of mission- critical assets and improve reliability at remote locations while decreasing down- time and lowering maintenance costs. The MicroLab is a multicomponent analyzer used for engine, generator, gear- box, power steering and transmission flu- ids. It is offered in two versions — the MicroLab 30 provides key properties for oil chemistry, kinematic viscosity and concentration of 10 wear and contamina- tion metals. Additionally, the MicroLab 40 version offers an increase to 20 wear, con- tamination and additive metals along with the addition of a particle counter for analyzing gear and hydraulic oils. 44 www.coalage.com February 2016 p r o d u c t n e w s Rough Terrain Forklift Sellick's S150 rough terrain forklift lifts 15,000 lb.
