42 www.coalage.com July 2016 product news ASGCO's Retractable Razor-Back System with Split Block Spring- Shoc allows for safe access and service from outside the chute. This innovative patent-pending design prevents the dangers of working inside the conveyor or breaking the plane of the convey- or, keeping workers out of harm's way. This greatly reduces down- time and eliminates the need for confined space permits. Listening to the feedback from its customers, ASGCO' s engi- neering department has delivered a product with all of the clean- ing efficiency of its patented Razor-Back cleaners, while allowing for safe access and ease of maintenance. A resilient blade support absorbs the shock in the most severe material handling applications The blades move independently to maintain constant contact with the belt. A durable, 3.5-in.- thick square tubing endures extreme environments. Universal mounting system makes installation simple, according to ASGCO. The retractable design allows for ease of blade changeout and maintenance, from one side of the conveyor. Heavy-duty tung- sten carbide or AR400 blades are available. The compact design requires less than 9 in. of clearance to be installed and main- tained. The blade is safe for mechanical splices and belts speeds up to 1,000 fpm (5 m/sec), according to ASGCO. www.asgco.com Self-sharpening Teeth The Keesharp bucket tooth from Australia gets stronger over time, in- creasing the life span of loader buckets and increasing productivity. "Keesharp adaptor and bucket tooth systems increase nose strength and integrity, extending the operational life of the bucket," said Keech Australia Marketing Manager Brad Clark. "The specialized design of the tooth profile means as it is used and worn down, the tooth be- comes even sharper, increasing efficiency with use." "Pro "Produc- tivity is further enhanced because Keesharp is designed for easy change- over with a one-pin-fits-all format, delivering better machine availability while reducing downtime." The hammerless system is designed with a pin on either side of the tooth for a more balanced locking system. The tooth and adapter absorb the force of digging, keeping the pins free of pres- sure for optimum performance. "Having a single pin size across the range makes tooth changeover simple and safe," Clark said. Keesharp has been rigorously tested and all models have been validated to match the breakout forces of the machines. www.keech.com.au Smart Wireless Gateway Emerson Process Management has introduced the Smart Wireless Gate- way 1552WU, a Wi-Fi access point that connects WirelessHART sensors to the control network. Jointly developed as an integral part of Cisco's IoT Systems, the 1552WU Gateway is a fully featured mesh access point that simplifies Wi- Fi and WirelessHART installations, lowers costs and reduces deployment time. Users no longer have to run fiber optic cables for ethernet communica- tion to every WirelessHART Gateway. The 1552WU seamlessly connects to neighboring access points, allowing complete wireless coverage with only local power wired to the 1552WU. www.emerson.com Hybrid Motor Exceeds Premium Efficiency Performance Baldor Electric Co. recently announced the latest motor tech- nology: achieving efficiency performance two to four efficiency bands above NEMA Premium efficient levels (IE3) by using a hybrid motor design. Using advanced technology, which com- bines the starting attributes of an induction cage with perma- nent magnets, the new RPM XE platform can provide substan- tial energy savings and performance for most centrifugal load applications. The hybrid design exceeds premium efficiency performance on sine wave power while meeting IE3 as a combined motor and drive package. The motor starts like a traditional design B induc- tion motor and pulls into true synchronous speed and operates as a true synchronous machine. Laminated finned frame construction also contributes to power density and enhanced thermal performance by providing greater heat dissipation, which results in cooler operation and longer motor life. The operating temperature is lower than typical B and F rise temperatures found in the traditional cast iron or steel band induction motors. www.baldor.com Retractable System Improves Conveyor Maintenance A retractable design allows maintenance from one side of the conveyor.
