april 2018 www.coalage.com 45 product news continued from the conveyor belt. It uses the same patented E-Z Torque tensioner as the rest of the Skalper line, featuring a stainless-steel spring, allowing the blades to self-adjust, making it the most robust and accurate belt cleaner tensioner in the industry, ASGCO reported. The tensioner and mounting tube are zinc plated for corrosion resistance and the blades can be quickly changed from one side of the conveyor belt. Company leadership reported the solu- tion was engineered with feedback from the customer. "We listened to the needs of our customers and they want an effec- tive belt cleaner that can hold up to the tough conditions of portable crushing and screening operations," Aaron Gibbs, presi- dent, ASGCO, said. "After working with our engineering and manufacturing teams, we developed a primary belt cleaner to meet and exceed our customers' expectations." Pit-Skalper can be installed on any belt with maximum blade speeds of 600 feet per minute (3 meters per second) and a pulley diameter of 10 in. to 20 in. www.asgco.com Drive for Hazardous Locations Applied Motion released the STAC6-Q-H Stepper Drive, internationally certified for use in hazardous locations. The drive op- erates in environments with flammable or explosive gases, vapors or liquids. Powered by 120 volts (AC) that generates a nominal 160-volt DC internal bus, the drive oper- ates best when paired with NEMA 23, 24, 34 or 42 frame step motors. An advanced anti-resonance algorithm ensures opti- mal torque over a wide speed range. An encoder feedback option is available for enhanced system accuracy using Applied Motion's proprietary stall detection and stall prevention features, which overcome limitations of open-loop step motor sys- tems, the company reported. The drive can run programs created with Applied Motion's Q programming language, and has sufficient input/output signals to connect to multiple external devices or sensors. The STAC6-Q-H Stepper Drive is ATEX and IECEx certified for Class I, Zone 2 locations, and UL certified for Class 1, Div. 2, Group C & D locations; Class 1, Zone 2 locations. www.applied-motion.com
