Sapphire jewel bearings suspend the turbine, allowing for sensitivity to the slightest movement. An infrared light beam senses the turbine's rotation with no added friction, permitting a high degree of accuracy. Large scale integrated circuitry adds to the Turbo Meter's reliability. One switch allows the user to move between four different scales that determine air velocity in feet per minute, meters per second, miles per hour or knots. The three-digit LCD readout offers superb contrast and visibility, especially important for industrial applications where lighting is poor. An auto-off function prevents unnecessary battery drainage. www.davisnet.com Overhead Lifting Equipment Konecranes introduces two speed control options, Extended Speed Range and Adaptive Speed Range, for overhead lifting equipment motors for the mining industry, as cost-effective options to achieve high average hoist speeds without increasing motor size. The new Extended Speed Range has been developed for high duty applications where near capacity loads are routinely lifted. Extended Speed Range uses inverter technology to allow increased hoist speed for light loads. The faster hoist speed allows operators to return empty hooks to position or move smaller loads with more speed and efficiency, reducing average hoist cycle time and increasing productivity. www.konecranesamericas.com temperature readings during tire checks without having to climb into the cab of the vehicle to view the pressures on the monitor. www.doranmfg.com High-powered LED Lights Super Bright LEDs introduced its newest line of high-powered LED light bars and auxiliary lights. Designed for on- and offroad vehicle use, each waterproof light produces extraordinary light output, are highly efficient with a low power draw, and have an operation lifetime of up to 50,000 hours. Each light is waterproof or submersible certified, and composed of a Tire Pressure Monitoring Doran Manufacturing introduces tire pressure sensors with low-frequency activation—a technological advancement for the Doran 360CE tire pressure monitoring systems for OTR tires. This new valve-stem mounted tire pressure sensor allows fleets to receive digital tire pressure and temperature data using Doran's handheld SmartLink tool. With this new feature, the handheld tool can be used to transmit a low-frequency signal that will activate the tire pressure sensor and transmit the current data back to it for viewing. This enhancement provides a simple, fast and accurate method to obtain tire pressure and January 2013 www.coalage.com 49
